Privacy Policy
Quran Loop (“Quran Loop”, “we”, “us”) is a free, browser-based tool for learning and memorizing the Qur’an through repeated listening. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and what control you have over it. We keep the data we hold to a minimum: essentially your basic account details and the choices you make as you use the app.
Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the service:
- Account information. When you create a free account, we receive a basic identifier for you. If you sign in with Google, that is your name, email address, and profile photo as provided by Google. If you sign up with email, that is your email address. We use a secure authentication provider (see below) and do not store your password ourselves.
- Your app content and preferences. The selections you make in the app — such as your saved loops, verse ranges, weak verses, playlists, chosen reciter, script, and other settings — so we can save your work and sync it across your devices.
- Optional Quran.com connection. If you choose to connect your Quran.com account to import bookmarks, we access those bookmarks so we can bring them into your weak verses list. You can decline this and use everything else normally.
- Basic technical data. Like most online services, our hosting and infrastructure providers process standard technical information (such as IP address and device/browser type) needed to deliver and secure the service.
We do not collect payment information (Quran Loop is free), and we do not ask for sensitive personal information. We do not run advertising, and we do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking technologies.
Using Quran Loop as a guest
You can create a loop and start listening without an account. Guest use requires no sign-in; when you later create an account, your guest loop can come with you. An account is needed to save more loops, track weak verses, build playlists, and sync across devices.
How we use your information
- To provide the app and its features.
- To save your loops, preferences, and progress, and sync them across your devices.
- To keep your account secure and to operate, maintain, and improve the service.
- To respond to you when you contact us for support.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Third-party services
We rely on a small number of trusted providers to run Quran Loop:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, and Cloud Functions) for sign-in, storing your account data and app content, and running the service. Their handling of data is governed by Google’s privacy terms.
- Quran.com and the Quranic Universal Library supply the Arabic text, English translation, and reciter audio, and Quran.com — only if you connect it — your bookmarks. See the Quran.com and Quranic Universal Library sites for their terms.
These providers process data on our behalf so we can operate the service. We share your information with them only as needed for that purpose.
Data storage and security
Your account data and app content are stored using Google Firebase infrastructure. We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Cookies and local storage
We use cookies and similar browser storage only for essential purposes such as keeping you signed in and remembering your preferences. We do not use them for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Your choices and rights
You can view and change most of your data directly in the app. Subject to applicable law — including Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) — you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you may delete your account. To make a request, contact us at salam@quranloop.app.
Children
Quran Loop is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes may be highlighted in the app or on this page.
