Frequently asked questions

What does khatm mean?

A khatm (khatm al-Quran) is one complete reading of the Quran from start to finish, from Al-Fatihah to An-Nas. There is no fixed pace. What matters is finishing, at whatever daily amount you can keep up.

How many pages is the Quran?

The standard Madani mushaf, used by most printed copies and Quran apps, has 604 pages across 30 juz. That works out to about 20 pages per juz. This calculator uses the 604-page count.

How long does it take to finish the Quran at one page a day?

At one page a day, a khatm takes 604 days, about 20 months. Two pages a day takes 302 days, and four pages a day takes 151 days, about five months.

How many pages a day do I need to finish the Quran in Ramadan?

About 20 pages a day, which is one juz. 604 pages over 30 days is just over 20 pages a day; if the month has 29 days, aim for about 21. Four pages after each of the five daily prayers adds up to 20 pages a day.

Is there a minimum time for finishing the Quran?

No faster than three days. The Prophet ﷺ said: “He who finishes the recitation of the Qur’an in less than three days does not understand it.” (Sunan Abi Dawud 1390, Sahih per Al-Albani). There is no upper limit; a slow khatm you keep up is still a complete khatm.

Does the calculator save anything?

No. It runs entirely in your browser and doesn’t store or send your pace or dates anywhere.
